They are the users that have been verified as students. The information we ask for is to verify the identity of each user and be sure they are real persons.
Who are the tutors?
They are the users that have been verified as tutors. Besides the identity verification, the must provide information about their tutoring services, for example, the subjects they teach.
Can I be a student and tutor at the same time?
Yes, you only have to verify yourself with the information that each one of that profiles requires.
Verification
What is verification?
It is the process by which we ensure that the information of students and tutors is true.
Why do I have to be at least 18 years old to use the application?
Because tutorings are face-to-face and by legal terms, all users must be at least 18 years old. If you are a parent who wants a tutoring for their child, you should be the one who makes the reservation.
Why do I need to verify myself?
Verifying all users to use our service helps us create a safe and trustworthy environment.
Why do you ask for my Government ID?
It is part of our verification process. Requesting a doucment like the Government ID has the purpose of verifying the identity of our users. Your identification document is not shared with anyone and is stored securely.
Payments
How are payments handled?
Tutting integrates Stripe as our payment platform. Stripe is one of the world's largest payment processors complying with PCI DSS standards. These standards are designed so that all companies that accept, process, store or transmit credit card information maintain a safe environment.
How do I receive my money as a tutor?
To receive your payments you must have been verified and have entered the bank account where you want to receive your payments. Once this process is done, when you finish giving a lesson with a student, you must scan the QR code that the student has in the details of that lesson. If you do not scan this code, your payment will not be made.
This mechanism benefits our students to only be charged to their credit cards when the lesson has been completed. It also ensures that the lesson has been given and reduces refound rates for tutors who have not attended to their lessons.
How much can I charge as a tutor?
Tutors are free to choose their own price per hour. Tutting implements a wide price range in which tutors can set their price.
Why Tutting only accept credit cards as a payment method?
It is the safest way to process payments. It also indicates the payment commitment of the students, avoiding situations in which the student does not comply with the payment of the tutoring. Another advantage is that it allows us to automate the movement of funds to tutor's bank accounts.
Other
How are the lessons given?
Lessons can be handled in person and online. If the lesson is online, the student and the tutor must agree on the video platform to use. For example: Zoom, Google Meet, etc. We higly recomend to have online lessons at the moment because of COVID-19 situation right now.
Why Tutting doesn't have an integrated video platform?
At the moment we have focused on creating the best possible experience in face-to-face tutorings. In our growth plans is to integrate our own video platform for online lessons.
How can I chat with the tutors?
Once a booking request has been submitted and accepted by the tutor, the chat is enabled. You can find the chat in the booking details.
